Professor Dr. Habib Ali Taher, Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, welcomed a high-level sports delegation from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, who came to offer congratulations on his appointment as dean.
The delegation included prominent sports figures, such as:
- Professor Dr. Ali Taha Ghafour, Captain of the National Volleyball Team and Head of the Sports Committee in the Kurdistan National Union
- Professor Dr. Diar Sadiq Abu Bakr, Head of the Olympic Committee Representation in Kurdistan and Adviser to the President of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee
- Mr. Rebwar Nuri Abdullah, Vice President of the Iraqi Volleyball Federation
- Mr. Keland Star Abdullah, Member of the Iraqi Volleyball Federation
- Mr. Adnan Aziz Hassan, President of Al-Shurja Club
- Mr. Hawkar Rashid Ali, Member of the Executive Bureau of the Kurdistan Olympic Committee
- Mr. Ardalin Faiq Darwish, Assistant Coach of the National Volleyball Team
Dr. Habib Ali Taher expressed his gratitude and appreciation for this gesture, praising the strong sports relations between the various provinces of Iraq, and stressing the importance of joint cooperation to develop the sports sector in the country.
At the end of the meeting, friendly discussions took place, and both sides emphasized enhancing efforts to support Iraqi sports in various fields.
