In the presence of the Governor of Karbala, Engineer Naseef Jassem Al-Khatabi, the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Professor Dr. Habib Ali Taher, the Head of the Karbala Olympic Committee, Mr. Saad Al-Yasiri, and a large gathering of pioneering and young athletes, the National Iraqi Olympic Committee – Karbala Branch held the second annual sports festival.
The festival was sponsored by the Governor, reflecting his continuous support for sports and the youth sector in the province. The event featured the honoring of a select group of outstanding athletes, along with several faculty members from the College of Physical Education who played a prominent role in supporting and developing sports.
The honorees included:

- Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Jalab
- Assistant Lecturer Sajad Muhammad Al-Khafaji
- Assistant Lecturer Muhammad Hussein Haider
- Assistant Lecturer Saad Al-Alawi
The festival highlighted the province’s commitment to celebrating athletic talents and reinforcing the role of academics in contributing to the advancement of sports through their efforts and exceptional contributions.
