The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, in collaboration with the Information Technology Directorate in Karbala, organized a scientific seminar titled “Cyberbullying,” attended by several officers from the directorate, as well as a group of students and faculty members.
The seminar featured key speakers, including Colonel Ihsan Al-Asadi, Director of Media at Karbala Police Command, Colonel Maytham Mohammed Jameel, Director of the Cyber Crime Division, Captain Zulfiqar Qasim from the Technology and Information Department, and media professional Alaa Al-Karkoushi, Head of the Rumors Department at Karbala Police Command.
The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of cyberbullying, its impact on society, and methods to combat it. The discussion covered various techniques of cyberbullying, such as hacking electronic devices, social media accounts, and exploiting victims through fake websites and suspicious conversations.
Real-life cases were presented, along with an explanation of the necessary legal procedures for dealing with such crimes. Preventive tips were also shared, including securing personal accounts, being cautious of accepting unknown friend requests, and ensuring devices are properly reset before selling them to avoid misuse of data.
The seminar concluded with a discussion session where attendees had the opportunity to ask questions, emphasizing the importance of promoting digital awareness to protect against the dangers of cyberbullying.
