Under the patronage of the President of the University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Dr. Khaled Muhammad, the Continuing Education Division in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences organized a workshop entitled “Volunteer Work Skills for Students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences.” The workshop was held in the college’s discussion hall, and was attended by Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Al-Jassem and Assistant Lecturer Saad Allawi Jawad.
The workshop aimed to introduce students to the concept of volunteer work, and the importance of this activity as a community practice that enhances the values of cooperation and belonging and benefits society. The motives that motivate individuals to engage in volunteer activities were discussed, whether humanitarian, social, or academic motives, in addition to presenting the most prominent benefits that volunteers and the university community as a whole derive from these activities.
The workshop highlighted the importance of building an effective volunteer team within the university, Through it, students can participate in activities that support the university and society, which contributes to increasing youth awareness and developing their abilities in an environment that allows them to develop and acquire practical and social skills.
