The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences – University of Karbala organized a scientific symposium on women and the challenges of the era, in which the Karbala Governor’s Advisor for Children and Women’s Affairs (Amna Muhammad Al-Asadi) lectured The symposium aimed to introduce the reality of women in light of the challenges they face through different eras and to identify the most prominent problems they face that limit their participation in building society, most notably the phenomenon of violence and harassment and the reasons behind them. In addition to that, to know the most important societal challenges facing their participation in various leadership positions.
The symposium reached several recommendations, including conducting educational courses and seminars urging women’s participation in various aspects, including social, religious, economic and political, for the purpose of advancing the reality of a large and important role for women and enhancing their role in society.
The workshop included interventions from the attendees about the possibilities and guidance and awareness programs through which we strengthen and develop women’s capabilities to face various future challenges.
The symposium recommended empowering Iraqi women by opening fields of education and work to them and continuing awareness campaigns about the impact of violence against women on individuals, families and communities.
