The University of Karbala achieved advanced positions in the Second International Road Race Forum, which was held at the University of Baghdad, with the participation of 70 Iraqi and international universities. Professor Dr. Hussein Makki, head of the University’s Student Activities Department, teaching at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Karbala, stated to the Media and Relations Division that the university’s student team achieved second place in teams, with the participation of runners: Abbas Ali Nasser, Muhammad Hussein Karim, Haider Farid Sajet, and Taher Ali Shabib. In the masters race, Dr. Hussein Allawi won first place, while student Abbas Ali Nasser won third place in the individual student competitions. The female student team also achieved fifth place in teams.
We appreciate the efforts of the team’s training and administrative staff, led by the trainer of the teaching team at the College of Physical Education, Professor Dr. Alaa Falih, and his assistant, M. M. Ali Abdel Amir.
Dr. Hussein Makki expressed his pride in this achievement, noting that it is a promising start to the season of sports activities for the new academic year, and stressing that the university will continue to provide full support to its teams to achieve more successes.
