A delegation from the Asian and Arab Rugby Federation visited the College of Physical Education at the University of Karbala
The Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Habib Ali Taher, said that the President of the Asian and Arab Rugby Federations and Vice-President of the UAE Rugby Federation Qais Al-Dhali with the Secretary-General of the UAE Rugby Federation Mohammed Al-Zaabi visited the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Karbala, explaining that a joint meeting was held with the delegation in the Deanship of the Faculty in the presence of The assistant president of the university, Prof. Dr. Najm Abdel Hussein, the head and members of the Iraqi rugby committee, the Secretary-General of the committee, his deputy, and a number of college professors
The Dean added that the delegation expressed its great happiness with this visit and praised the hospitality and reception by the President of the University, Prof. Bassem Khalil Nayel, noting that the purpose of the delegation’s visit to Iraq is to support and develop the Iraqi Rugby Committee by the Asian Federation
At the end of the meeting, the visiting delegation was awarded the college shield in appreciation of their efforts to support the game and their serious and real efforts to develop it in Iraq.
It is worth noting that the Iraqi rugby committee was recently formed and seeks to develop the game so that the committee will turn into a federation.
