Faculty Member at the College of Physical Education Earns First-Degree Umpire Certification in Badminton and Participates in Two National Tournaments

Assistant Lecturer Noor Alaa Hussein, a faculty member at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Karbala, achieved a significant sporting accomplishment by earning a first-degree umpire certification in badminton, one of the highest umpiring qualifications at the national level.

This achievement coincided with her participation in the Iraq National Badminton Ranking Tournament and the Iraqi Premier League Clubs Championship, both held in the city of Kirkuk.

She expressed pride in this opportunity, which allows her to contribute to the development of women’s sports. She emphasized that her participation in the two tournaments is an important step in enhancing her umpiring experience and connecting with top athletes and clubs in Iraq.

It is noteworthy that badminton tournaments in Iraq are highly competitive, with distinguished clubs from across the country taking part, reflecting the noticeable development of the sport in the region.
