Under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and with the support of the Presidency of the University of Karbala, students from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences participated in the University Festival of Fine Arts.
The festival, supervised by the Cultural and Artistic Activities Division under Ms. Rusul Salam Abdul Amir, was hosted by Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University in Najaf Al-Ashraf from December 1 to December 5, 2024. Over 50 Iraqi public and private universities participated in the event.
Despite competing against universities with specialized faculties and departments in fine arts, the University of Karbala achieved sixth place, highlighting its dedication to nurturing student creativity and developing artistic skills.
The college’s team included student Janan Jassim Mohammed, whose innovative artwork depicted themes of collaboration and perseverance among students and professors, contributing significantly to this remarkable achievement.
This success underscores the commitment of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences to fostering creative and artistic activities among its students. It also reflects the university’s support for diverse student talents, paving the way for future accomplishments.
