On Thursday, 11/28/2024, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences – University of Karbala organized a scientific symposium entitled “Problems Facing Teenage Girls,” presented by M.M. Hoda Moayed Ali and M.M. Nour Sabah Shihab El-Din.
The symposium aimed to shed light on the most prominent psychological, health, and social problems that affect girls during adolescence, which is considered one of the most difficult stages of life they face.
The symposium discussed the role of parents in monitoring teenage girls’ friends and their behavior, and the importance of building a relationship based on understanding and trust. The necessity of flexible dealing with teenage girls, avoiding excessive severity, and • discussing problems related to girls’ self-confidence, accepting the shape of their bodies, and the hormonal and psychological changes they go through, and • emphasizing the Social pressures, such as bullying, Internet addiction, and peer comparison, and their impact on girls.
