College of Physical Education Organizes a Workshop on Climate Change and Its Impact on the Environment

The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences/University of Karbala organized a workshop on climate change and its impact on the environment

The workshop, which was attended by M.D. Manal Dakhel Sakhil, aimed to identify the climate change cycle and its impact on the environment and provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of climate change, its causes, and its repercussions on the environment and various ecosystems

The workshop discussed understanding the factors causing climate change and the impact of human activities such as greenhouse gas emissions and deforestation on the global climate and climate change on biodiversity, agriculture, water resources, and public health and promoting sustainable solutions and providing methods to reduce the impact of climate change, such as the use of renewable energy, sustainable resource management, and forest protection

The workshop called for creating an aware generation that possesses the necessary knowledge to deal with the challenges of climate change and contribute to achieving a more sustainable future. The workshop recommended empowering Iraqi women by opening up education and work opportunities to them and continuing awareness campaigns about the impact of violence against women on individuals, families, and communities
