Under the patronage of the President of the University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Bassem Khalil Nayel Al-Saidi, the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Karbala organized an endurance scouting tour for university students with the participation of hundreds of students and teachers from the College of Physical Education and a number of university colleges.
The head of the preparatory committee for the tour, Dr. Samer Abdel Hadi, said in a statement to the Information and Relations Division that the scouting tour is part of the components of the scouting subject for the first stage in the college, explaining that it included the participation of 11 of the university’s colleges, namely (faculties of administration and economics, tourism sciences, pharmacy, computer sciences, agriculture, veterinary medicine, sciences, dentistry, medicine, engineering). (138) female students, (226) male students, and (117) teaching staff distributed among (34) scouting teams.
He pointed out that the tour included many endurance scouting practices and volunteer work to preserve the environment, such as planting seedlings and an extensive cleaning campaign for the coast of Lake Razaza.
He added that the tour aims to develop the social spirit of the participants, deepen the bonds of brotherhood among them, expand the intellectual and mental awareness of the participating youth, instill positive values in the souls of the youth to protect the environment, develop physical fitness among the participants, discover the latent talents of the youth and nurture them, as well as spread the spirit of volunteer work.
The participants recommended the importance of scouting work as it enhances self-confidence and makes a person always motivated to work and give. In addition, a full life in the embrace of nature makes the scout think about creation and the Creator, which makes him more committed to religious values, morals, and worship, and this is a positive reflection on his life. .
